Why you need a website

Making sure you web design has been optimised by a website designer.
4 reasons why your business requires a website, Not simple a Facebook page.

I am still amazed by the number of local business that do not have a website and thinks a Facebook is all they need. Even if it a simple one page or a simple 3 page website showing your business products and services to an elaborate blog site.

I believe they think is either unnecessary or maybe think Facebook will do the job. This is unfortunately a big oversite and will have a big impact to their business. Your business does in fact need a professional website designer as an asset of it’s own.

So, I have put together 4 reasons why I believe your business needs a website.

Now by no means am I saying you do not need a Facebook page. Quite the opposite, every business should have as it does play an important part but not as your business online showcase.

  1. Credibility
  2. Not everyone on Facebook
  3. Google Searches will not show Facebook pages before websites
  4. Showing off your style
  5. Conclusion

1. Credibility

For many years now studies have shown us that a good website design will add instant value and credibility to your business products and services. Everyone goes to google (in fact 98% people use google) to find your website that represents your business to find out what you are about.

They will be checking you out online and comparing you agents your competitors before they come to you as a customer. Your customers will be looking at how professional your website looks like, your style, you’re pricing and most of all your quality and customer care.

So, if you only have a Facebook page and most don’t show all your services and products, but only show them your latest post which I’m hoping is business related and not I need a coffee meme! As I have mentioned Facebook play a important part of your business. But it’s to inform your current customers as It’s hard to find businesses through Facebook as their algorithms are not focused on business but people. Now there is 2.2 billion people using Facebook but with a big exit on Gen Z will hurt Facebook.

2. Not everyone on Facebook

Now there is 2.2 billion people using Facebook but with a big exit with Gen Z will hurt Facebook and at the end of 2018 it was estimated that 44% of young millennials unfriended Facebook. Over the years more and more love and hate Facebook and find themselves disconnecting from it and only a few coming back to it.

We see this all the time, the older generation prefer to only use it for friends and family, and now the younger generations are leaving in numbers so you will not have that growth in their adult life when you want them to be customers.

So why then use Facebook as your primary business face? It’s great to have as a secondary point of online presence.

3. Google Searches will not show Facebook pages before websites

Google wants to provide everyone the very best experience when they search for something on the web. So, Google will display the best websites that matches what the person is looking for. So therefore, Facebook will not be displayed before a website.

Making sure you web design has been optimised by a website designer like web design 4u to be relevant to what your customer is searching for and then will be displayed a professional website that will showcase your business and win over the person looking.

4. Showing off your style

I remember when everyone was updating their own personal Myspace page and it a really cool place to go to and see how much effort people into their own pages. Again, even back then it was all about presentation and the better the page was the more popular you were.

So today is no different. Having a nicely presented website to showcase your business is doing the same thing. A Facebook doesn’t do this and will never really show you off. My mum has a Facebook page that she sells her knitting projects on and yet business owners are thinking a Facebook page is doing them justice.

So making sure you get an affordable website and not a free one designed by a website designer that is search engine optimised will always outperform Facebook and will show your customers you’re a real creditable business that want to give them the best experience and give them what they are looking for.

5. Conclusion

So, if your serious about your business success then please give a serous thought into getting a website. Even it’s simple one you will showing the people looking for your services or products that your seriously in business and not just my mum trying to sell some knitting stuff on Facebook.
